Last week the rush hour train filled with Yankee fans after a day game at the Stadium. The trains nowadays are pretty crowded, but this one was standing room from engine to caboose. A couple decked out in Yankee regalia sat next to me. I asked who’d won – the Red Sox, but it (more…)

If you’re over forty, what the hell are you doing in the music business?

June 16, 2009

You’re too old. Too out of touch. Too set in your ways. Too everything.

And that’s exactly what I was telling myself yesterday as my body refused to recover from Bonnaroo. I used to stay up deep into the night effortlessly. I handled the heat of summer. I drank and toked without (more…)

These are the last days of Virgin Megastore. On Friday I walked through their Union Square 50,000 square foot location. The place had been slashed to a single floor – everything was for sale from the cash registers to the lights. The downstairs was already a construction zone. The loud clang of shelves being dismantled competed (more…)

Each day I drive through town it seems as if another business has shuttered its doors. Last month the Cadillac/Pontiac dealership closed – it had occupied a choice parcel of land on the Post Road in Westport for over thirty years.

Never would have believed it on Sunday afternoon of the last day of the season...

I'm hearing a lot of Giant fans saying, we just had a bad game -- look folks -- we beat the Giants twice within in a month, both in Giants Stadium.

Nothing else needs saying on that note.

On Saturday night, December 27, 2009, a little before 11:00 George passed away surrounded by Sloan, Sam, Gabe and all of his family.

Although he never regained consciousness after Wednesday night, George knew that his family was with him and that he was deeply and infinitely loved.

George also knew how very much we all loved him (more…)

Look after the Phillies this year, anything is possible, but I still was going there with the Eagles...

I was so disgusted after last week's loss at Washington that I didn't allow myself to entertain even for a moment, the Eagles playoff chance...

And yet, somehow, by the one o'clock games, I knew who (more…)

Rachel Getting Married

November 2, 2008

Haven't seen a lot of films this year, but this one really knocked me out -- loved it --

Great music too!

For those that only know Anne Hathaway from the Prada film, don't pass judgment, she was amazing in this....

It's this year's 'Once;' it won't do those numbers, but it's very satisfying.

Phillies versus Mets

If you believe NY sports radio, all the Phillies did was trash talk the Mets after their victory, which was far from the truth -- a few comments were made, off hand remarks -- no big deal -- and yet...

The bottom line New York fans is this -- both the Mets and Yankees think it's their right (more…)
